How to help

Share the bike love. As a charity we’re 100% dependant on support from good people like you.

Volunteer with us

Everyone is welcome to join our community. We have an enthusiastic crew of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.

Rescue and Repair Bikes

Join us at the Hub on Thursdays and Saturdays to work alongside our bike mechanics. No experience required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to help get more people rolling.

Expert Fix-It Nights

If you’re an experienced mechanic, come along to our industry-supported fix-it sessions: fast, fun evenings where we fix bikes at pace, share skills, eat pizza and enjoy a brew or two.

Welcome Crew: Meet, Greet, Connect

Help us welcome everyone who visits the Hub. We need friendly volunteers to chat with people arriving to give or get a bike and help make sure their new bike is exactly right for them.

Kids’ Bike Support Team

The Wakatipu Toy Library has recently gifted us a fleet of 50 little bikes. We need caring helpers who can focus on fitting tamariki to the right size and style for a safe, confidence-building ride.

Event Helpers

We host hundreds of events each year. They’re social, lively and rewarding, with plenty of opportunities to make connections and spread the OneBike vision. We always need extra pairs of hands.

Crunch - Metal Recycling Programme

Crunch is a destructive dream for anyone who likes to smash, twist, turn, bash or (un)screw with things. Every Thursday the Crunch team are stripping and dismantling bikes for recycling. This is an uber fun play session (with a healthy dose of Health and Safety).

Donate Bikes & Parts!

Got bikes, parts, or accessories gathering dust? Drop them off with us!

We accept pretty much anything bike related. We ‘ll fix and rehome as much as we can, and responsibly dispose of anything else.

Give your old gear a new life and help support our community!
